    Contractors for the Bossier Parish Police Jury have poured the surface for a new bridge at Swan Lake Rd. (just off Poole Rd.) over the Flat River and are moving closer to completion. Dirt work on approaches to the bridge is ongoing.

    Swan Lake Rd.’s southbound lane beneath Interstate 220 will be closed for construction Monday, July 27 beginning at 8 p.m. and will reopen July 28 at 5 a.m. Also closed will be the I-220 eastbound exit ramp, and law enforcement officers will be on site to help accommodate traffic control on Swan Lake Rd.

    Shovels of dirt were turned by Gov. John Bel Edwards and a number of dignitaries a couple of months ago to signal the ceremonial start of the I-220 extension onto Barksdale Air Force Base. On Monday, heavy equipment began clearing a roadway and moving debris by the truckload.
