When road surfaces in Bossier Parish are removed and replaced, the materials taken from the original roads aren’t wasted. A large quantity of base fill and millings is being stored at the South Bossier Park complex for use on other roads as the parish’s highway program continues into the new year.

When road surfaces in Bossier Parish are removed and replaced, the materials taken from the original roads aren’t wasted. A large quantity of base fill and millings is being stored at the South Bossier Park complex for use on other roads as the parish’s highway program continues into the new year.

Much of the material shown has come from the reconstruction of Poole Rd., one of several asphalt roads being replaced due to damage caused by flood waters in 2015. Money to fund the repairs became available when Bossier Parish won an appeal in federal court against the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
