Parish continues mosquito spraying program

Part of the Bossier Parish Police Jury's regular road program is spraying for mosquitoes along parish roads and in neighborhoods throughout the parish. Spraying is done in the evenings and Cliff Cannon is taking it to the pesky insects at dusk in the Dogwood subdivision. While Cannon was working in the subdivision, another parish truck was spraying in the Lake Bistineau area. The mosquito control department also traps the pests and forwards those to be tested as carriers for diseases like West Nile Virus.
