Something old, something new in road projects

Posted: Jun 11, 2018, 4:35 PM

Something old is getting a fresh face while something new rolls steadily along.

Bossier Parish highway department workers are currently working on sections of streets in Forest Hills subdivision, giving a fresh layer of asphalt to make the way a little smoother for residents.

Meanwhile, contractors for the parish are making steady progress on the first section of a new Swan Lake Rd. Crews are moving plenty of dirt on the south end of the project to mark the route of the new roadway that will extend from I-220 to Flat River.

While that work continues, other workers are working on base material on the northern stretch of the road near the Flat River bridge.
