Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit/Highway
Reports To: Commanding Officer and Parish Engineer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $18.16 hourly
SUMMARY
Provides a variety of basic secretarial duties for supervisory, administrative and /or professional employees. Must be capable of applying good English language and business practice skills in completing assignments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Personal computer literacy is required to include Excel, Access and other basic programs in M/S Office.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or employees of the Parish.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid State Driver’s License
