Contractors for the Bossier Parish Police Jury have poured the surface for a new bridge at Swan Lake Rd. (just off Poole Rd.) over the Flat River and are moving closer to completion. Dirt work on approaches to the bridge is ongoing.

Swan Lake Rd.’s southbound lane beneath Interstate 220 will be closed for construction Monday, July 27 beginning at 8 p.m. and will reopen July 28 at 5 a.m.
Also closed will be the I-220 eastbound exit ramp, and law enforcement officers will be on site to help accommodate traffic control on Swan Lake Rd.

Area motorists travelling on I-220 and Swan Lake Rd. will be looking at a series of detours and closures beginning July 29 when contractors begin a project to widen lanes on Swan Lake at its intersection with the I-220 overpass.

The Bossier Parish Police Jury will follow the Governor’s directive not to hold public gatherings of over 50 people when it meets on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. As provided by the Governor’s order, the Jury will meet in person and limited members of the public will be able to be in physical attendance.

Pursuant to an agreement between Sligo Water System, Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District #1 and the Bossier Parish Police Jury, Sligo water customers who currently receive their sewer bill from CWSD#1, will begin receiving a combined water/sewer bill from Sligo Water System beginning July of 2020.

Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 is installing a new ground storage tank for the Dogwood subdivision and to facilitate this installation, it will be necessary to isolate our pumps from the rest of the system for a few hours in order to re-configure some piping.

While Covid-19 had us sheltering in place we were busy preparing for the future. We initiated board meetings via Zoom and will continue to utilize Zoom as an option for Board members to participate in meetings after the pandemic.

A public meeting has been scheduled for August 5 in the Bossier Parish Police Jury meeting room to authorize the renewal of a 3.08 mill ad valorem tax that helps provide funding for Bossier Parish correctional facilities.
