Jurors Glenn Benton (District 2), Philip Rodgers (District 3), and Tom Salzer (District 11) attended a special news conference on West Viking Drive announcing the Operation Clean Sweep event.
We are always proud to help with this event,” Benton said. “This year’s event is in coordination with the Air Show at Barksdale AFB, and we are expecting over 200,000 visitors, so cleaning up the parish and making it look good for our visitors is priority.”
Operation Clean Sweep is an annual event dedicated to enhancing the beauty of Bossier Parish. Operation Clean Sweep will be held Saturday, March 22, when the Bossier Parish Police Jury joins forces with hundreds of volunteers, Keep Bossier Beautiful, and the Bossier Sheriff’s Office to tackle litter across the parish.
In past years, the Police Jury has provided a truck with grappling arms to help collect large items, such as refrigerators, that residents bring to the event. During the announcement, the jurors, along with other parish officials, were given pickers and bags to mark the occasion.
