The agenda meeting began with a presentation by Stacy Brown, the President & CEO of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. Ms. Brown provided the jurors with an update on the 2024 budget and the Shreveport-Bossier Destination Master Plan. Brown also noted that tourism in Shreveport/Bossier added $819 million to the local economy.
The Jurors voted not to adopt an ordinance to regulate the sale and use of fireworks in the parish.
The Jurors awarded Louisiana Caterpillar the bids for purchasing one new motor grader and one new large asphalt paver, 2023 or newer models, for the Bossier Parish Highway Department.
Accepted a quote for more than $18,000 from Pulley Construction Company for the Village Water System-Fillmore Booster Station Bypass Connection for the Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1.

Approved the scheduling of a public hearing on January 10, 2024, to consider approval of the plat of the proposed development of Logan South, Unit No. 2, being a re-subdivision of Logan South Subdivision, located in Section 9, Township 18 North, Range 12 West, Bossier Parish, LA; located off Tall Pines Road.

(Ordinance No. 4984 amends Benton MPC regulations in error and contains an incorrect legal description)

The Jury President announced to the public that the Police Jury meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at its regular meeting place, the Police Jury Meeting Room, Bossier Parish Courthouse, 204 Burt Boulevard, Benton, Louisiana, the Police Jury of the Parish of Bossier, State of Louisiana, plans to consider adopting a resolution ordering and calling a special election to be held in the Parish of Bossier, State of Louisiana, to authorize the renewal of an ad valorem tax therein.
Police Jury Members also heard reports from Butch Ford, Parish Administrator, Eric Hudson, Parish Engineer, and Allen Burson with the Highway Department.
