Keep Bossier Beautiful (KBB) Grant

Posted: Oct 6, 2022, 1:43 PM

Keep Bossier Beautiful (KBB) has been selected as a recipient of an Affiliate Program Grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the state’s premier anti-litter and community improvement organization, according to Lynn Bryan, KBB's Executive Director.

Bryan said this year’s grant will support KBB’s initiative to educate community members on the benefits of recycling, proper recycling methods and will provide enhancements at the Bossier City Recycling Center. The Recycle Center currently produces approximately 130,000 pounds of material monthly and will be enhanced with fresh paint and signage.

In the educational blitz, student volunteers will distribute items printed with recycling messages, such as magnets, cups and other items. These messages will educate individuals on the benefits of recycling, train individuals on how to properly prepare items for recycling, and help inspire individuals to value natural resources as waste is reduced.

KBB's identity is rooted in the drive to end litter, protect the environment, and beautify the community. Some highlights of KBB’s recent projects include the Bossier Parish Prisons Recycle initiative, which is the only program in the state that incorporates recycling into correctional facilities.

Also, KBB presents Environmentally Aware student seminars that help educate the next generation on taking care of the environment, and promotes E-Waste recycling events which have resulted in 1,500 pounds of properly recycled electronics.
