Bob Brotherton Installed as President of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana

Bob Brotherton has again given Bossier Parish representation at a top administrative level in the state after his installation as President of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana during ceremonies at the 98th PJAL convention in Lake Charles.

Brotherton, who represents District 1 on the Bossier Parish Police Jury, will lead the statewide organization for a one-year term. He is the second Bossier Parish Police Jury member to head the PJAL, joining District 2 representative Glenn Benton, who served in 2019.

As president, Brotherton will lead the executive board in advocating for issues facing police juries across the state. He will be responsible for communicating with members of the legislature in helping formulate policy critical to all 64 parishes in the state.

Brotherton was first elected to the PJAL executive board in 2017, representing Region 4. He is currently serving his fourth term on the police jury.

“Of course I’m excited at the prospect of representing the police juries in the state and helping in any way I can,” Brotherton said. “This is an honor and I look forward to continuing the tradition of integrity this association has achieved.”

Brotherton said he will attend all PJAL regional meetings.

“I want to meet as many people as possible and these regional meetings will be an excellent avenue to do that,” he said. “I want to know about local issues and, whenever possible, help solve problems where they exist. We have an excellent executive board and I’m anxious to work with everyone.”
