RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Alison Lerma Smith, Administrative Coordinator 3, for the LSU AgCenter’s Bossier Parish Extension Office, retired on April 30, 2021 after 42 years of service; and
WHEREAS, during her employment, Alison has served as the Administrative Coordinator 3; and
WHEREAS, Alison has been a loyal employee who has always been willing to help when needed; whether it was working as the other 4-H Agent in the office (when Jeannie was by herself), dealing with phone calls, greeting the public with a smile, keeping the office decorated for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with Christmas being her absolute favorite decorations, she was always willing to help. Alison made sure all 1000 monthly 4-H newsletters were copied, stapled, and sorted for the 30 parish clubs, making sure all office supplies were stocked, always stepping in to assist with the parish 4-H fundraisers even though they occurred after work hours, serving as the parish 4-H Bookkeeper, organizing the Forestry Forum registrations and greeting all of the attendees, serving as the office Safety Officer and many, many other tasks; she has always been willing to take on whatever tasks were expected; and
WHEREAS, Alison has not been just a co-worker, but a dear friend and family member who will be greatly missed; BUT will still be expected to meet her co-workers for Johnny’s Pizza at least once every two weeks. Alison offered a listening ear when needed and was passionate about her friends and co-workers, as well as her job duties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Bossier Parish Police Jury on this 21st day of April, 2021, that the police jury and staff do hereby express our sincere appreciation to Alison Smith for her many years of dedicated service to Bossier Parish, and do wish her congratulations and best wishes in her retirement.
The resolution was adopted on this 21st day of April, 2021.
