Bossier OHSEP and Non-Profit Agencies Distribute Water

Posted: Feb 24, 2021, 5:40 PM

Bottled water distribution is continuing in Bossier Parish thanks to the combined efforts of the Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (BOHSEP) and area non-profit organizations and support agencies through the Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) and 211 system.

Focus of the distribution is to get bottled water into communities in ways other than drive through points of distribution (PODS), town hall sties and rural fire district headquarters.

BOHSEP has teamed with the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank, Bossier Meals on Wheels, the 211 system and other area non-profits to make as much water available to residents as possible.

A person receiving regular assistance from Meals on Wheels will now also get a supply of bottled water, made possible by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and the Louisiana Army National Guard which is aiding in deliveries to the area.
