A $2.8 million asphalt overlay project will improve nearly seven miles of La. Hwy. 529 in northeast Bossier Parish, according to an announcement by the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development.
Work will stretch from the intersection of La. 529 from its intersection with La. Hwy. 2 south to La. 160. Included in the contract, which was awarded to Benton & Brown, is pavement patching, grading, drainage structures, roadway striping and related work.
DOTD officials said the project should begin in mid-October and is expected to be completed by Spring, 2021, weather permitting. La. 529 is located just west of the Webster Parish line.
Lane closures will be necessary as pavement work begins. Notifications will be issued via the MyDOTD subscription system. Additional information is also available at www.dotd.la.gov.
Motorists are reminded to please drive with caution through the construction site and to be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
