Bossier Parish Police Jury highway department crews will be working Saturdays for the next few weeks on a project that is designed to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Linton Rd. and Palmetto Rd.
Parish Engineer Butch Ford said an additional lane is being constructed at the intersection on the southbound side of Palmetto Rd. and continuing through the traffic light on Airline Dr.
“We’re doing the work on Saturdays so we won’t tie up traffic during the high traffic periods during the weekdays,” he explained. “When we finish, there’ll be two lanes heading south to handle the flow through that intersection.”
Ford said future plans have been made to address congestion on Linton Rd. that causes traffic to stack up at the intersection during peak driving times.
