Area fishermen will soon be getting a little extra help in their pursuit of game fish on Lake Bistineau, thanks to the Bossier Parish Police Jury’s Parks and Recreation Department and the La. Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries.
On Tuesday, Feb. 19, fish attractants will be placed at various locations on Lake Bistineau. Fish attractants will be tree tops attached to recycled fence posts that will be submerged in designated areas around the lake. Deployment will be made around 8 a.m. at the Bossier Parish Camp launch facility off Parish Camp Rd.
Locations will be marked for public identification and GPS coordinates of each site will be documented for use.
“This will be an ongoing project which we hope to expand to other fisheries in the parish as resources become available,” said Warren Saucier, parks and recreation director of the parish.
