Even though winter weather was bearing down on Bossier Parish last week, several girls’ lacrosse teams took to the fields of South Bossier Park for 2021 LaxFest and officials said the tournament was a success.

Playing fields at Bo Brandon Park in Princeton are receiving a facelift with the additional of more dirt to the surface in order to level the infield portions of the ball parks.

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, Bossier Parish Parks and Recreation will be closing its facilities for group gatherings. Sports games, tournaments, and practices are cancelled until April 13, 2020.
Playgrounds, walking tracks, and picnic/camping areas will remain open for individual and family recreation.

Bossier Parish’s South Bossier Park will host a qualifying meet for the 2019 USA Track & Field (USATF) national cross country championships on Saturday, Nov. 23, according to Juan Plaza, head coach at River Cities Track Club.
