11/29/2017

According to the state Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), the bridge on La. 527 spanning Red Chute Bayou in Bossier Parish will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30.

Officials said the bridge is being closed for emergency repairs and will remain closed for about three weeks. The bridge is located just over three miles east of U.S. Hwy. 71 and just under three miles west of La. 157.

As an alternate route, vehicles must detour using U.S. 71 (Barksdale Blvd.), La. 3105 (Airline Dr.), I-20, La. 157 and La. 527. Motorists are asked to drive with caution approaching the construction site, which will be completely shut down to traffic.

For more information, please call 800-542-3509 or 511, or visit www.511LA.org. Progress may also be monitored at the DOTD website, www.dotd.la.gov.

The Red Chute Bayou bridge on La. 527 will be closed roughly three weeks (with Mother Nature's cooperation) for emergency repairs, and the state DOTD is asking area motorists to be patient while work proceeds.
