Linton Rd. bridge repairs nearing completion

06/08/2017

Work to replace weakened pilings on the Linton Rd. Black Bayou Reservoir bridge is nearing completion.

Parish Police Jury highway department workers have driven the final pilings and are replacing the concrete caps on the structure. All that remains is to reattach safety barriers in the repaired section of the bridge and spread a new layer of asphalt on the surface.

Overlaying equipment will be moved onto the site and work is scheduled to begin on the new surface Friday morning. Temporary road striping will also be applied. A press release plus notification on the police jury’s website (www.bossierparishla.gov) and Facebook page will announce the official reopening of the bridge.

No limits on the bridge will be posted.

Police Jury workers lay the final cap over the repaired section of the Linton Rd. bridge.

A pair of pilings are in place to complete structural repair on the bridge.
